A strong relationship changes how they learn

When your child has a tutor who takes the time to really get to know them and earn their trust, they become more willing to ask questions and say when something doesn't make sense. Learning feels more enjoyable and relevant, building confidence where it's needed and encouraging them to challenge themselves and aim higher academically.

More than the lesson itself

Membership means more than regular one-to-one lessons. It means a carefully chosen tutor who gets to know your child, backed by an academic team that's there for both of you.

The right tutor from our team

We take the time to understand your child and what you're looking for, then choose the tutor from our team we believe is best suited to them.

Someone who really gets to know them

Regular sessions give your child's tutor time to really get to know them. As that relationship develops, so does their understanding of how best to support them.

We'll keep you updated on your child's progress and make sure you always have experienced educational support to turn to, both for their tutoring and as you navigate the decisions that come with each stage of their education.

Getting started

A thoughtful match, from the very first conversation.

Tell us about your child

We want to understand more than the subject or subjects they need support with. Tell us about your child, what they're like, what they enjoy and what you'd like them to achieve through tutoring.

We consider the right tutor

We use what you've told us, alongside your child's academic needs, to decide which of our tutors we think will suit them best. If they need support across more than one subject, we'll also consider whether it's better for them to work with one tutor or more.

Meet in a free taster session

Your child meets the tutor we think will suit them best and experiences a lesson together. It's a chance to see how they get on before you decide whether you'd like to continue.

Begin ongoing tutoring

If you'd like to continue after the taster, we'll get everything set up for your child to begin their ongoing weekly tutoring.

You know they are capable of more

Their confidence has started to dip

They second-guess their answers, avoid work they find difficult or have started to believe that a subject simply isn't for them.

Learning feels like a struggle

They may be finding particular topics difficult, falling behind in a subject or getting results that don't reflect the effort they're putting in.

They're ready to be pushed further

They may already be doing well but would benefit from greater challenge to keep progressing and aim even higher.

Our story

English tuition sessions were previously conducted 3-to-1, with each tutor dividing their time between three students. Moving to 1-on-1 online tutoring let each private tutor focus fully on an individual student's learning journey, subject knowledge and interests — leading to faster progress, sooner learning outcomes and greater confidence. It also broadened our talent pool beyond Guernsey to the UK's most skilled and inspiring English tutors. Our tutors have a proven track record supporting students from primary and secondary schools across the island, including Castel and La Houguette Primary Schools, and Les Beaucamps and Guernsey Grammar Secondary Schools.

Academic levels that we support

English tuition begins at Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6), aligned with the national curriculum, offering the one-on-one time and active question-asking environment classrooms often can't. Primary students also receive exam preparation for 11+, 13+, SATs and school entrance exams. At secondary level, tutors help ease the transition into Years 7-9, and provide GCSE students with time management skills, exam revision support for all major exam boards, and top exam tips. AS and A-level students receive exam preparation support and mock exam practice for English Language or Literature.
